PEP is a 23 week program designed for the parents who have had, or are in danger of having their children removed from their custody. It is also for parents in recovery from drug or alcohol abuse/addiction. The (partial) curriculum follows:

a. Child Development (Ages and Stages)
b. Emotional Honesty
c. Guilt and Shame
d. Nutrition
e. Positive Discipline/The Importance of Affection
f. Self-Esteem for Parents & Children
g. Stress, Frustration & Anger Management
h. Parents as Role Models
i. Goals & Problem Solving--Conflict Resolution
j. Working with DSS/CPS
k. Children's Bill of Rights
l. Domestic Violence/Child Abuse
m. How Addiction Affects Children
n. Sibling Relationships
o. Helping Teens Make Smart Choices
p. The Internet & Your Child
q. Protecting Your Child from Sexual Abuse
r. Daily Life Skills: Shopping, Budgeting, Hygiene, Childproofing Your Home, Summer Safety, etc.
s. Guest Speakers from Various Agencies

Certificate: These classes earn a certificate requiring 90% attendance.
Class Length: 2 hours per class once a week for 23 weeks.
Where: Days and Evenings in Newburgh, Walden, Middletown & Port Jervis.
